Brunswick County to Operate on Delayed Schedule Tuesday; Parks Stay Closed

Bolivia, NC — Brunswick County is beginning to thaw out after Winter Storm Gianna, and county government will reopen on delayed schedules Tuesday, February 3. While conditions are improving, black ice and remaining snow may still create hazardous travel.

County parks will remain closed as staff continue evaluating storm impacts.

Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, Operating Updates

County Offices & Facilities (including the License Plate Agency):  Set to reopen at 10:00 a.m.

Library Branches:  Open at 10:30 a.m.

The Brunswick County Library will continue waiving overdue fines during weather‑related closures. Residents should keep materials at home until branches resume normal operations.

County Parks:  Closed until further notice. Staff will reassess conditions to determine when parks can safely reopen. All programs, rentals, and league activities remain canceled.

Landfill:  Reopens at 10:00 a.m.

Convenience Centers:  Follow their standard schedule – closed Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. They will resume normal operations on Wednesday, February. 4.

GFL Curbside Cart Collection: Monday collections are postponed until Saturday due to unsafe road conditions. Tuesday routes will have a delayed start.  Collections may take longer than usual because of icy roads and extremely cold temperatures.

 

Court Dates and Courthouse Operations: Questions must be directed to the Brunswick County Courthouse.
