George Allen Dillard – Macedonia NC

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of George Allen Dillard on August 13, 2026 at the age of 81.

George was a devoted husband, father, and proud grandfather. He was generous with his kindness, wisdom, humor, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family, especially his wife of 58 years, Margie.

He was also a beloved educator/coach for more than 30 years, church leader, mentor and servant of God.  George served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Williamson Crossroads Baptist where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years.  He could often be seen out with the men’s group serving in many capacities, whether it be on the Inlet catching spots for Church wide fish fries, stirring pots of spaghetti noodles for Cancer Research fundraisers, or offering help of any kind for those in need of the community, sometimes that could include his special gift of craftsmanship. George was always willing to offer a prayer, or words of encouragement, or a helping hand to anyone in need.  Those who knew George will remember his heart for giving, love of fishing, and love of baseball, most recently the Texas Rangers.

Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Trent Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson’s Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior (2:00-3:00) to the service on Sunday in the Chapel.

George is survived by wife Margie Hayes Dillard; daughters Georgiana Dillard Sealey (Jes), and Heather Dillard Fowler (Jason); grandchildren Dillard Sealey (Kaitlyn), Brock Fowler, Isaac Sealey, Caitlin Fowler; siblings Bill Dillard (Sandy), Carlton Williamson (Emma), Robert Dillard (Pat), Irene Ross, Loretta McCabe, and Linda Schnitzler; and many nieces and nephews. George was also blessed with some very special caregivers in the last several years that were considered family.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Inman Dillard, his father, Perry Ellsworth Dillard and his stepmother Eula Williamson Dillard.
