CONWAY, SC — A small plane crashed in the woods near the Conway Airport on Sunday morning, leaving the pilot uninjured.
Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the scene near North Pawleys Road following an 8:38 a.m. dispatch. First responders found that the small aircraft had landed in the trees and sustained damage.
The pilot, who was the only person on board, was located safely with no reported injuries and required no hospital transport.
Crews brought the situation under control by 10:35 a.m. and began clearing the scene, while specialized towing crews worked to remove the aircraft from the woods.
