By Coastal Carolina News Staff Writer
Bolivia, NC — Brunswick County commissioners will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, to review a proposed rezoning and companion land‑use plan amendment affecting property along Southport‑Supply Road SE near Southport.
The hearing will take place in the Commissioners’ Chambers at the David R. Sandifer Administration Building, 30 Government Center Drive, Brunswick County Government Center.
The request, filed as Rezoning Case Z‑936, seeks to change 1230 Southport‑Supply Road SE (NC 211) from RR (Rural Low Density Residential) to NC (Neighborhood Commercial). The proposal covers Tax Parcel 18500018, totaling about 25.10 acres.
A related Land Use Plan Amendment LUM‑936 would modify the CAMA Land Use Plan map designation from RA (Rural/Agricultural) and MDR (Medium Density Residential) to Commercial for the same parcel.
Residents may attend the hearing to listen or offer comments before commissioners consider action. For more information, contact the Brunswick County Planning Department at 910.253.2025 or 800.621.0609
