CONWAY, SC — Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire on Wagner Circle late Friday afternoon after a lightning strike ignited a fire in a home’s garage.
Crews were dispatched to the scene at 5:25 p.m. Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the blaze, preventing any flames from extending into the main living areas of the residence.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and the home sustained no structural damage that would displace its residents. Utility crews were called to the scene to assist with safety checks following the lightning strike, which investigators determined was the cause of the fire. The incident is currently under control.
