WHITEVILLE, NC — Local drivers will need to keep a closer eye on their speedometers this week as the Whiteville Police Department officially kicks off its local enforcement initiative for the statewide “Speeding Slows You Down” campaign.
Starting Monday, July 20, through Sunday, July 26, motorists can expect to see an increased presence of patrol officers focused on reducing speeding and improving overall safety across city streets.
Department officials are urging residents to take a deep breath and ease off the accelerator, offering a lighthearted reminder that the local speed limits apply to everyone—unless their last name happens to be Earnhardt.
