MONTHS-LONG INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHADBOURN ARREST ON DRUG AND WEAPON CHARGES

Chadbourn, NC — A months-long investigation by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Vice/Narcotics Unit culminated in a residential raid, yielding multiple illegal narcotics, firearms, and a weapon of mass destruction.

On July 13, 2026, Vice/Narcotics investigators, alongside the Criminal Investigation Division, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Williams Road in the Chadbourn community. According to authorities, the search warrant was secured after investigators successfully conducted several controlled purchases of illegal narcotics from the home.

During the search, law enforcement personnel uncovered and seized suspected illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and multiple firearms hidden inside the home. Among the weapons recovered was a handgun reported stolen out of South Carolina, as well as a machine gun conversion device, widely known as a “switch.”

Following the raid, Juwarn Andre Britt Jr. was arrested at the scene. Britt has been charged with Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance; Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling or Place for Keeping or Selling Controlled Substances; Possession of a Weapon of Mass Destruction; Possession of a Stolen Firearm; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was processed and received a $15,000 secured bond.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office noted that the investigation remains active and ongoing through its Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) federal task force officer regarding the recovered machine gun conversion device and stolen out-of-state firearm.

“This investigation demonstrates the importance of proactive enforcement and the commitment of our Special Operations Vice/Narcotics Unit,” Sheriff W.A. Rogers said. “Illegal narcotics and unlawfully possessed firearms create serious dangers within our communities. We will continue using every available resource and working with our law enforcement partners to identify criminal activity, remove dangerous items from our streets and hold offenders accountable.”

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
