Waze is rolling out a new set of navigation features designed to improve routing precision, reduce driver interruptions, and expand voice‑based controls. The updates reflect the platform’s broader shift toward AI‑supported navigation and more personalized trip guidance as drivers increasingly rely on real‑time data for daily travel.

Motorcycle Mode is the most specialized addition in the update. The new setting provides routing tailored specifically for two‑wheel travel, accounting for hazards such as uneven pavement, narrow bridges, shoulder drop‑offs, and other conditions that can affect motorcycle handling. Waze says the mode also identifies routes commonly used by riders and will expand to additional regions as testing continues.

Personalized Navigation introduces trip‑history learning into the routing engine. The system observes a driver’s preferred route types over time, including tendencies to avoid certain corridors or favor faster highways. Those patterns begin influencing suggested routes, offering a more customized experience. Waze notes that the feature can be turned off for drivers who prefer standard routing without personalization.

Less Chatty Mode reduces non‑essential voice prompts during navigation. Turn‑by‑turn directions and critical alerts remain active, but the system limits additional commentary to minimize interruptions. The change is intended to support longer drives where users prefer uninterrupted listening while still receiving essential guidance.

Conversational Reporting expands natural‑speech map updates. Drivers can verbally report closures, changes, or hazards without navigating on‑screen menus. The information is sent to map editors for verification, streamlining the reporting process and reducing the need for manual interaction while driving.

Gemini Destination Search introduces AI‑powered voice queries for locating destinations. Drivers can request general categories such as parking, restaurants, or fuel availability without needing exact names. The system returns options that can be selected through voice commands, reducing distraction and simplifying searches when precise details are unknown.

Waze says the new features will continue rolling out throughout the year, with additional AI‑supported tools expected as part of its next platform update.
