RECALL: Best Buy Insignia Gas Ranges Pulled for Fire‑Hazard Risk

A federal safety recall remains active this July for two Insignia‑brand front‑control gas ranges sold exclusively at Best Buy, after regulators determined the appliances pose a fire hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that models NS‑RGFGSS1 and NS‑RGFCGS2, sold from November 2020 through March 2026, can be unintentionally activated if the front‑mounted knobs are bumped or brushed. Best Buy has reported one incident involving unintended activation; no injuries have been reported.

Consumers are advised to stop using the oven immediately. Cooktop burners may continue to be used safely. Best Buy is providing free knob‑safety covers as part of the ongoing mitigation program.

The recall remains in effect as Best Buy continues verification and fulfillment of safety‑cover kits for affected households.
