Joan Godwin Norris, 76, of the Beaverdam community, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 8, 2026, at Shoreland Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Joan was born on September 11, 1949, daughter of the late Joe Lee Godwin and Thelma Todd Godwin.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Worthington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mercer Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
The surviving family includes a daughter, Dana Norris Hemminger (Michael) of Chadbourn; son, Michael LaRue Norris (Candy) of Chadbourn; siblings, Janice Galloway (Bill), Benny Godwin (Donna), Sandra Godwin; grandchildren, Lily Hemminger, Liam Hemminger, Britni Stevens (Conner), Kortni Hilburn (Victor); great-grandchildren, Sunny Hilburn, Rhett Hilburn, Colton Stevens, Asher Normile.
