Southport, NC — Southport Smoke House will reopen for business on Thursday, June 27, following a late‑night fire last week that caused minor damage and briefly closed the restaurant.

Owner Mr. Troy Knight, said he received a call around 10:00 p.m. last Tuesday reporting that his building was on fire. Fire crews arrived quickly, and the fire was contained with no injuries reported. A passerby saw flames and called 9-1-1, allowing firefighters to reach the scene before the fire spread.

Southport Fire Department responded along with additional area departments. Damage was limited to a small area of the structure.

Repairs were completed in coordination with Kelley Construction, the Fire Marshal’s Office, Southport Building Inspections, and Brunswick County health inspectors. The restaurant received clearance to reopen after cleanup and safety checks were completed.

The Smokehouse team is extremely thankful for their customers and the Southport community for their support during the temporary closure.

Southport Smokehouse will resume normal operations beginning June 27
