FDA Recall: MorningStar Farms Frozen Products Pulled for Plastic Contamination

Two plant‑based items recalled after plastic pieces found in select packages

MorningStar Farms has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of two frozen products after reports of plastic fragments being found in certain packages. No injuries have been reported, and the company says the recall is being conducted out of caution.

  • Buffalo Chik’n Nuggets — 10.5 oz. UPC: 00028989101105 Better‑if‑used‑before dates: July 7, 2027 and July 8, 2027
  • Hot & Spicy Sausage Patties — 8 oz. UPC: 00028989100948 Better‑if‑used‑before dates: July 5 through July 7, 2027

The recalled items were distributed across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica. No other MorningStar Farms products are included.

Consumers are advised not to eat the affected products. Packages should be discarded, and customers may request a refund through MorningStar Farms Consumer Affairs at 800.962.0120 Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. or by texting 877.453.5837
