Free child safety seat inspections available for families

HORRY COUNTY, SC — Local families will have a chance to make sure their youngest passengers are riding safely as Horry County Fire Rescue hosts a car seat safety check this Thursday, June 25, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the M.L. Brown Public Safety Building, 2560 N. Main St., Conway.
Parents and caregivers can pull into the designated inspection area in the parking lot, where HCFR’s certified child‑passenger safety technicians will look over each seat, confirm proper installation, and help adjust harnesses or anchors as needed. These checks are especially valuable for new parents, grandparents, and anyone transporting children in multiple vehicles.
The event is part of HCFR’s ongoing community risk reduction efforts and is offered through a partnership with Grand Strand Medical Center. It’s a quick, drive‑up service designed to give local families peace of mind before hitting the road.
