Residents invited to share experiences with internet access, device availability, and digital skills
North Carolina residents are being asked to take part in a statewide effort to better understand how people access the internet, use computers at home, and develop the digital skills needed for work, school, and daily life. The NC Digital Opportunity Survey, led by the North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT), is now open to the public.
The survey is available at go.ncsu.edu/digitalsurvey collects information about barriers that prevent individuals and communities from fully participating in today’s digital world. State officials say the results will guide future investments in broadband expansion, affordability programs, and digital literacy training across North Carolina.
According to NCDIT, community feedback is essential for shaping programs that support residents who struggle with slow or unreliable internet, lack of devices, or limited digital skills. The department notes that the survey is open to all residents, regardless of their current level of internet access.
“Every response helps us understand where the gaps are and how we can better support North Carolinians,” the department stated in its announcement. Questions about this survey, please contact: digitalopportunity@nc.gov
