De Lois Delean “Brandy” Crouse – Loris SC

De Lois Delean “Brandy” Crouse, age 85 of Loris, SC, formerly of Mattoon, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in her daughters home surrounded by her family.

Born October 21, 1940, in Hillsdale, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Henry B. Cobb and Rethea Richardson Cobb.

She is survived by her children, Julia Ann Alessi (Tony), Tina Owens, David Owens, Gary Owens, (John Cauley), and Laura Ogden; sister, Debbie Hathway; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her life partner of 30 years, J.W. Polk, two brothers, George Cobb and Sonny Cobb; and two sisters, Nell Norman and Linda King.

She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Her passion and unconditional love was ALWAYS for her family. She enjoyed gardening, watching squirrels and birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds.  Also, she was a generous giver of her homemade fudge, cookies and other desserts from her kitchen. She was not afraid of giving her opinion and had the wisdom and humor to back it up. She will be missed; however, her legacy will live on through the love she shared.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
