Florence man charged after June 12 incident near Bar Harbor Hotel

Myrtle Beach, SC — The Myrtle Beach Police Department has announced the arrest of a Florence man in connection with a shooting that occurred early June 12 on South Ocean Boulevard.
According to investigators, Darnell Antonio Richardson, 38, was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force. Richardson is charged with Assault and Battery, First Degree, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition.
Police say the shooting happened at approximately 5:22 a.m. in the 100 block of South Ocean Boulevard. The investigation determined Richardson was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim at the Bar Harbor Hotel before allegedly firing one round in the victim’s direction. No injuries were reported.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department thanked the U.S. Marshals Service for its assistance in apprehending Richardson. The case remains under investigation.
