WHITEVILLE — A Whiteville man was arrested twice Wednesday in two separate cases involving narcotics, alcohol violations, and contraband, according to reports from the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and Whiteville Police Department.
Wiley Bramble Memory, 62, of 408 S. Franklin Street, Whiteville, was first taken into custody on June 17 by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies charged Memory with Possession of Methamphetamine, a felony. He was booked and released the same day. Court records list the charge as awaiting trial.
Later that night, Memory was arrested again — this time by the Whiteville Police Department — following an unrelated investigation. Officers charged him with Possess With Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Marijuana, a felony, and set bond at $25,000 secured.
Additional charges included: • Possess Drug Paraphernalia • Possess Marijuana Paraphernalia • Manufacture Liquor Without Permit • Possess/Sell Non–Tax Paid Alcohol • Possess/Sell Alcohol Without Permit
All charges were listed as awaiting trial.
According to the detention report, Memory remained in custody following the second arrest. No injuries were reported in either incident, and no further details were released.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
