Leland Town Council to Address Infrastructure, Ordinances, and Voting Districts in Upcoming Meetings

The Town of Leland has announced three public meetings next week at Town Hall, located at 102 Town Hall Drive. The legislative week begins with a Council Agenda Meeting on Monday, June 15, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Special Meeting on Tuesday, June 16, at 6:00 p.m.

During Monday’s agenda meeting, the Council will review a FY25-26 grant update and discuss proposed e-bike regulations introduced by Councilmember Campbell. The session also includes a review of Article 9 of the Unified Development Ordinance regarding nonconformities and the establishment of future discussion topics.

The week concludes with the Council Regular Meeting on Thursday, June 18, at 6:00 p.m. The agenda features a special public comment period dedicated to the topic of potential voting districts, preceded by a proclamation commemorating the United States Semiquincentennial.

The Council is expected to act on several key items during Thursday’s session, including a design-build agreement with Intercoastal Marine, LLC for the Sturgeon Creek Boardwalk and Dock project, a new IT services contract with VC3, Inc., and a $900,000 budget amendment for GASB reporting.

The meeting will also address performance guarantees for Brunswick Forest subdivisions and the adoption of updated financial policies. Following board appointments and a discussion on a potential property exchange, the Council will receive staff reports. The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 16, 2026.
