Columbus Regional Healthcare expands support for growing families with monthly education sessions

WHITEVILLE, N.C. — Expectant parents in Columbus County will have access to a full year of free childbirth education in 2026 through a series of monthly birthing classes hosted by Columbus Regional Healthcare System’s Family Birthing Center.

The sessions take place at Baldwin Woods OB-GYN, located at 221 Jefferson Street in Whiteville, and are open to pregnant patients and their partners. Each class runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on select Saturdays, with refreshments available for attendees.

Designed to help families feel confident and prepared, the classes cover what to expect during labor and delivery, the benefits of breastfeeding, and include a guided tour of the Family Birthing Center. Participants also have the chance to meet the care team and get familiar with the environment where they’ll welcome their baby.
