Beatrice Lea Cartrett, 92, of Whiteville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.
Beatrice was born on December 14, 1933, daughter of the late Seth Roosevelt Cartrett and Oma Hinson Cartrett. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Norris; granddaughter, Jennifer Cartrette; siblings, RV Cartrett, Edella Atkinson, Edna Lewis, Carol Ann Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Worthington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Hinson Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
Beatrice worked for many years in the textiles industry; in the later years, she thoroughly enjoyed working with Whiteville City Schools, as a bus monitor.
The surviving family includes her children, Patricia Kennedy (David), Doris Redwine (Earl-deceased), Tonya Boswell (Jamie); grandchildren, Elizabeth Kennedy, John Kennedy, Lexi Boswell, Seth Boswell, Ashton Lazarus.
