Parade begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends at Waterfront Park; police urge safe viewing along the route.
Southport, NC — Southport Elementary’s 5th‑grade class will celebrate their graduation with a community parade today at 5:30 p.m., departing from the school and making its way toward the waterfront.
The parade will travel 9th Street, turn right onto Howe Street, and continue south until it reaches Bay Street and S. Howe Street, finishing at Waterfront Park.
Spectators are encouraged to line the route and cheer on the students, but organizers stress two key safety reminders: • Do not block intersections • Stay out of the travel lane
Southport Police officers will be stationed along the route to assist with traffic control and ensure a safe event for families and participants.
