State and local leaders underscore coordinated readiness as hurricane season approaches

Horry County Emergency Management joined Governor Henry McMaster, state officials, the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, and partner agencies in Dorchester County for the Governor’s Annual Hurricane Tour.

The annual briefing brings together emergency managers from across the state to review plans, strengthen coordination, and highlight operational priorities ahead of hurricane season.

The discussion served as a timely reminder that the start of the season is near, but also reaffirmed that South Carolina’s emergency management network – including Horry County’s team – continues to maintain strong partnerships to respond to and recover from any potential storms.
