Crane work will block traffic between South Davis Street and South Atlantic Avenue; parking at Waterfront Park remains open.
SOUTHPORT, NC — E. Bay Street between S. Davis Street and S. Atlantic Avenue will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, May 12, to allow a crane to safely install the city’s new weather tower.
Parking for Waterfront Park along Bay Street will remain open during the closure.
Motorists will be able to detour with a right turn onto E. Bay Street to help reduce congestion in the immediate work zone. Residents and visitors are urged to use caution, follow posted traffic directions, and plan for delays while the project is underway.
