Contribution strengthens youth education efforts and supports deputies working with students across the county.
Whiteville, NC — The Whiteville ABC Board has awarded a $7,123 donation to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office to support its D.A.R.E. Program, providing a boost to ongoing efforts that help students learn about making safe, healthy, and responsible choices.
The funding will assist deputies as they continue delivering classroom lessons, building positive relationships with students, and offering guidance on decision‑making, peer pressure, and substance‑abuse prevention. Sheriff’s Office staff said community support plays a key role in sustaining programs that reach young people throughout the county.
Sheriff Bill Rogers noted that the contribution reinforces the value of prevention and education, adding that support from local partners helps deputies connect with students in meaningful ways.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation to the Whiteville ABC Board for its continued commitment to youth programs and its investment in the future of Columbus County students.
