Emergency crews respond to Jackson Bluff Road area as South Carolina DNR launches investigation into the multi-patient incident
Horry County, NC — Two individuals were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries Friday evening following a watercraft collision on the Waccamaw River. Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the Jackson Bluff Road area at approximately 5:27 p.m. in response to the reported incident. While two victims required emergency transport for life-threatening injuries, three additional patients were evaluated and treated by medical personnel at the scene but did not require hospitalization.
First responders confirmed that the situation was brought under control shortly after their arrival. The City of Conway Fire Department and the Horry County Police Department provided assistance during the emergency response. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources has since taken the lead on the investigation to determine the official cause of the crash.
