COLUMBUS COUNTY — Deputies and municipal officers executed a series of warrants this week, arresting at least nine individuals on failure‑to‑appear charges, according to jail and incident logs.

Among those arrested:

  • Oscar Berney Carter, 50 — three misdemeanor FTA charges, $10,000 secured bond.
  • Uzziel Posada Marquez, 34 — six FTA charges out of Brunswick County, bonds totaling $25,000.
  • Henry Sharone Gerald, 42 — FTA and DWLR, $7,000 secured bond.
  • Additional FTA arrests occurred in Lake Waccamaw, Riegelwood, and Delco.

Sheriff’s officials say the coordinated effort targeted individuals with repeated missed court dates, which can trigger automatic orders for arrest under state law.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
