Fire and police chiefs invite the community to Waterfront Park for an afternoon of reflection and support.
Southport, NC — The City of Southport Fire Department and Southport Police Department will come together this Thursday, May 7, for a National Day of Prayer ceremony honoring first responders, public servants, and the wider community.
The event begins at 3:00 p.m. at the Waterfront Park flagpole, where residents will gather overlooking the riverfront for a brief but meaningful program led by Fire Chief Charles A. Drew and Police Chief Todd Coring.
The ceremony is open to everyone, with a special focus on offering prayers for law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, elected officials, government employees, citizens, and the City of Southport itself.
Organizers say the ceremony is intended to bring residents together in unity and gratitude, offering a moment of reflection for those who serve and protect Southport every day. The public is encouraged to attend.
